“If you’re going to form a relationship with a car, if you’re going to develop a bond, it’s got to have human qualities. And, if it’s going to have human qualities, it’s got to have faults.”
– Jeremy Clarkson
With that sentiment in mind, we’ve decided to put together a list of players and their “spirit cars”. These automotive works of art personify each of these superstar CS:GO talents. We’ve done our best to combine both performance and personality into our selections. With a healthy dose of Top Gear/The Grand Tour to assist with my, unfortunate, lack of supercar experience, start your engines, because here we go!
The players on our list are the top 10 from HLTV’s Top 20 Players of 2018.
Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione Wheelsandmore Stage II ~ $320,000
Much like the Ukrainian superstar CS:GO player, the Competizione needed a firm, experienced hand to overcome the squirlyness of the original version. Beautiful, but rough around the edges and sometimes hard to handle, s1mple and Alfa Romeo’s upgraded supercar are the heart and soul of their respective industries. Only now, they have been refined and unleashed on the world.
Porsche 918 Spyder ~ $845,000
Classy, dominant, versatile. Porsche’s 918 Spyder and dev1ce have so much in common. This car gets my vote for best car ever made and the Danish star isn’t far behind in terms of player rankings. The Spyder and dev1ce blend high performance with total control and a look that makes you wonder what it’s really capable of. Watching these two in action is a delight.
Ferrari LaFerrari ~ $1,416,362
The gem of the Ferrari brand and the superstar among stars, the LaFerrari is, arguably, one of the most wonderful automobiles ever constructed. It’s also a hybrid. NiKo has become one of the best players in CS:GO as well as a player capable of filling nearly every role. He’s now the IGL along with being the team’s top fragger. Surrounded on all sides by stars, NiKo outshines them all and has proven to be the belle of the ball, just like the LaFerrari.
Hennessey Venom F5 ~ $1,600,000
The Venom F5 personifies Na’Vi star, electronic, better than any other car out there. Reports say that the potential of both is off the charts, even higher than other supercars and players on this list. With people saying the car is able to reach max speeds of more than 300 mph, the F5 has the ability to blow every other competitor out of the water. With s1mple saying that the Russian star could be even better than he is, the ceiling for electronic could be out of this world.
Lamborghini Aventador ~ $637,507
A car and a player that make you wonder what you did wrong in life to not be able to perform at their level, the Aventador and dupreeh bring smiles to anyone who sees them in action. If you come across either one of them, you’re in the presence of the life of the party. They might not be the most amazing car or player in the world, but they get the job done very effectively.
McLaren Senna ~ $837,000
“That’s really alarming… I’m going to be sick,” Jeremy Clarkson said jokingly after going foot flat in the new McLaren Senna for the first episode of The Grand Tour, Season 3. McLaren has always been known for its mathematical, serious approach to building cars. This is much the way NAF approaches CS:GO. He’s focused, serious, and stoic. But, when you get him up to speed, he’s a force of nature. And, the default color would look great for the Team Liquid star.
Bugatti Chiron ~ $2,998,000
Dropping more than $2M on a car seems wild to us mere mortals. The Bugatti Chiron is a luxury that we don’t think we need until we actually see it in action. Magisk was brought into an already-strong Astralis team but turned out to be far more than a nice addition. His sleek play and skills were the perfect cherry on top of the collection of players already assembled. Just like this Chiron would be the best gift for someone who already has it all.
Aston Martin Vantage ~ $149,995
The British brand that forever has Jeremy Clarkson waving the Union Jack loudly and proudly, Aston Martin’s Vantage is a work of art. Its smart and intuitive design and control make this car a great fit for gla1ve. The Danish IGL is intelligent, refined, but also has a fun side.
Koenigsegg One:1 ~ $2,400,000
The king of the solo site hold. KRIMZ is a one-of-a-kind player, just like the Koenigsegg One:1 is a one-of-a-kind car. The perfect balance of power and precision that the Swedish star has shown over the years is exactly what the One:1 is all about. Fnatic’s best player is living proof that the Swedish scene is still relevant and the One:1 is proof that Swedish cars are on the rise.
Lamborghini Urus ~ $200,000
Coldzera has done it all over the years. He’s rifled, AWPed, been the IGL. And he’s been able to do it all at a high level. Lamborghini’s entrance into the SUV world brought us the Urus. You could take your kids to soccer practice and then smoke other cars in the quarter-mile. It’s truly an all-in-one vehicle, the perfect vehicular personification of coldzera.
