Chat 2.0 is coming and we have some important information about it. Before we mention what’s new, let’s talk about the important part.
Since Chat 2.0 has been completely rebuilt from the ground up, your chat history, contacts, and chat groups will be lost. We understand that this is horribly inconvenient. However, sometimes you have to take a step back in order to go forward.
So what can be done about this? Simply take a screenshot or write down any information you would like to keep. When Chat 2.0 launches on Thursday, January 17th, find your contacts and start chatting. Again, we understand the annoyance. We have received many requests about our chat feature. Building our own chat service allows us to customize the chat feature in any way Players and Teams want, giving you more of what you want in the future.
Chat 2.0 will launch with the following features:
A new Team chat feature – Your Team chat will be pinned at the top of the chat box and include all of your teammates automatically. From this group, you can chat with the entire team or click on individual teammates to chat privately.
A proper notification system – All new message notifications will be shown by using a red circle with the exact number of new messages.
DreamTeam now has the ability to connect each feature to the chat. In the near future, Players and Teams will be able to use the chat feature as a hub of communication, sharing game analytics, coaching goals, skill progression stats, etc.
We are in the process of rebuilding the group chat feature. DreamTeam will make groups easier to find, join, and use to gain valuable gaming insight.
In addition, we are proud to say that the overall design and chat feature quality has greatly improved. No more lost messages, disappearing contacts, except when we go live 😉, or missed notifications.
When Chat 2.0 launches, we will update you on what is new in more detail. The most important thing right now is to write down your contacts and any important messages you would like to keep. Thank you for understanding.
