Infinity Ward has released a roadmap of its plans for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, with lots of details about upcoming changes. To help fans track the changes more easily, it’s also released a simplified schedule for updates, along with an easy-to-access public document for changes.
Among the latest roadmap updates is mention of a new 3v3 Gunfight mode. Gunfight has proven to be quite popular, and the 3v3 mode allows even more combatants to jump in on the action. Infinity Ward is also giving players more loadouts, as per countless community requests.
In addition to Gunfight 3v3 and extra loadouts, the developers will also be implementing more Gunfight Tournaments. The team has indicated that these will return “once we’ve squashed a few bugs and added in new rewards,” so they may not arrive in the next Modern Warfare update. The team is also planning to offer more 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tier events.
Over the next few weeks, a host of new items and challenges will arrive, including an in-game Challenge to earn the new Crossbow, more remixed game modes, new playlists, and more to discover in the in-game store. To make room for all that activity, we are making a one-time extension of Season One – it’s now ending on February 11. During that time, there will be 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tier Progression to help you finish up your Officer Ranks and Tiers, and get you ready for an exciting Season Two.
