Apex Legends is celebrating its first anniversary, and instead of receiving gifts, the Respawn team is giving gifts to all Apex players. The title’s fourth season is called “Assimilation” and launched on February 4, exactly one year after the game went live.
Assimilation loosely follows the model of the previous seasons as it will introduce a series of changes and new additions to the game.
Apex’s season four is going to be big, but let’s start from the bonus:
Free login rewards
It’s not a birthday party without cake and presents, and players are getting both. During the first week of Assimilation, players who log in will receive a bundle called the “Anniversary Gift.” It will contain an origami gun charm, a dynamic badge, and an XP bonus, according to EA’s website.
And now let’s dive deeper into the changes:
– New legend Revenant
– New weapons
– Battle Pass
– Changes to Ranked Series 3
– Changes to the map
New Legend Revenant
Revenant is a simulacrum, a term used in the Titanfall universe to loosely define a robotic body with a human mind implanted into it. He will only have the ‘Regular’ stance going forward. Here’s what they reported:
– Passive: Infiltrator – Climb walls higher and crouch walk faster.
– Mark for Death – Fire a poison dagger. Press a button to reveal the target’s location for up to 60 seconds. The mark is removed if the target heals to full.
– Poison Bomb – Launch a Poison Bomb that damages and slows targets hit. This skill will likely deal Area of Effect (AoE) damage.
– Death Recall: Drop a totem that protects anyone who uses it from death. Instead of getting killed or downed, you’ll return to the totem with 20 health.

Sentinel Sniper Rifle
Players will be kicking off season 4 with a new bolt-action sniper rifle, The Sentinel, which features a charge mechanic that encourages players to think before committing to a powerful shot.
The Sentinel is supposed to give players “little more decision making” by asking themselves if they want to “take the most powerful shot you can take right now” or not, according to McCord. Community lead, Jay Frechette, said: the sniper has a “neat twist” that feels almost as if it had “another fire mode.”
Brand-New Battle Pass
The battle passes for all three previous seasons cost 950 Apex Coins – so you’ll probably have to pick up 1,000 from the store for £7.99/$10 for season four as well.
If you held onto the free coins that came with completing the Season three battle pass, you can use those too.
Changes to Ranked Series 3
The next ranked season is also getting an overhaul. With the addition of a new tier, two splits, and soft resets, there’s plenty to keep players on their toes.
Ranked Series 3 will see the addition of the new Master tier for players above 10,000 Ranked Points (RP), the equivalent to Series 2’s Apex Predator. The name “Apex Predator” will comprise a new, rarified tier restricted to the top 500 players on each platform. The standings are dynamic and can fluctuate as players gather RP.
Apex Legends Season 4 Map Update
There’s no place like home, and King’s Canyon feels like home for most Apex players. The map was the original arena for the Apex Games when the game launched but was pushed out of the rotation with the introduction of World’s Edge in season three. Now, it’s making a welcome return for the second half of season four.
The iconic map will be available during the second split of ranked matches starting on March 24. Likely, the arena will also be playable in unranked games, allowing all players to revisit the original battlegrounds.
Continuing to tell about the updates, World’s Edge is shifting dramatically, as a giant Hammond Robotics harvester has dropped smack in the middle of Capital City, splitting it in two. The Planet Harvester, used to gather precious metals from a planet’s core, has drastically affected the unstable planet, causing giant lava fissures to rupture.
As EA reports in their season 4 map update, Capitol City “was the biggest POI in season 3, getting the most action right out of the ship” (I can attest to that). The Harvester has split the hot zone in two, and even swallowed an entire building, with the intention of creating two separate zones (called Fragment East and Fragment West). You’ll only be able to cross the fissure in two places via a zipline or a fallen building that spans the gap.
Don’t worry about falling in that gap though, as there’s an updraft that will slowly carry you back up to the top. However, you’ll take 25 damage from the heat and fire, and you’ll move so slowly you’re “essentially a flying loot pinata for any nearby enemy players.”
There’s also a small new area called Survey Camp, which you’ll find between the Epicenter and Skyhook. Inside the Survey Camp are brand-new weapon racks, similar to the ones in Firing Range.
So, while not everything has been announced, that’s what we know about Apex Legends season four so far. We’ll keep this post updated as Respawn drops more hints and confirmed news throughout season three. And now check out your Apex Stats on DreamTeam.gg
